What makes BW distinctive for me?
The welcoming community! People are so kind here, from professors to students. It really is a special place.
What is the most interesting place I have visited?
If I had to pick one, I would say Croatia is the most interesting place I have visited. It was beautiful and the food was delicious. If you plan on visiting, I highly recommend going when Croatia is in the football championship, the entire city comes out and celebrates!
What do I love most about Berea and Cleveland?
I love being able to support small businesses throughout Berea and Cleveland. The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds host a lot of different events throughout the year and downtown Berea has some of my favorite restaurants. Berea is stunning in the fall, make sure to check out campus, Coe Lake and the Cleveland Metroparks. There are a lot of perks of being close to downtown Cleveland, but also having the calm of a small town. It’s the best of both worlds!
Where would I still like to visit that I haven’t already?
There are many on my list, but here are a few: Greece, Japan, the UK, and Switzerland!
If I could meet any historical figure, who would it be and why?
There are a few, but I would go with the Rockford Peaches (one of the first women teams to play in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball Leagues from 1943-1954). The movie, "A League of Their Own," is based off this team. Players wore skirts and makeup, and as someone that played softball, it would be cool to see how it all started!
What is my favorite movie?
This is a tough one, but I have to go with a classic, The Notebook.
What am I currently reading in my spare time?
I gravitate toward the romance/rom-com category...preferably not sad. I also like mysteries.
What song can’t I get out of my head right now?
"Vienna" by Billy Joel and "Sticks" by Noah Kahan, this answer changes constantly though.
My message to prospective students thinking about advancing their education at BW:
There is a reason why I attended BW for my undergraduate and graduate degrees, and now work here. It is a warm and welcoming environment that makes you feel at home. The small class sizes give you the ability to get to know your professors and build relationships with classmates, something that you don’t find everywhere. Make sure you schedule a campus visit, so you can experience BW for yourself!
